Slivodolsko Padalo waterfall

The Slivodolsko Padalo waterfall is highly picturesque, and with its height of about 50 meters is the highest waterfall in the Rhodopes, Bulgaria. It is located approximately 30 km from the city of Plovdiv and 15 km from the city of Asenovgrad, along the river Slivov dol and on the territory of the reserve "Red Wall".

Coming from Asenovgrad, after the third tunnel there is a fishpond and a parking lot where you can park. To the left, at the exit of the tunnel itself, there is a signpost where to take the waterfall. The trail passes along the river and is very nice, picturesque and shady, which makes it suitable for walking in the summer heat. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to see several more small, beautiful waterfalls. To make it easier to cross places, wooden bridges and stairs have been built, which were well maintained and in excellent condition during our walk there.

The approximate time to reach the waterfall is about 1 hour (without breaks) depending on your pace of walking, and the return will certainly take less time. You can go down to the waterfall itself, but the path is steep and requires special attention, or admire it from the side.
