Duhnam Massey is located in the north-west of England, near the city of Manchester, and is owned by the National Trust (british organization for the preservation of historical or natural sites of national importance).
Duhnam Massey has a 300-year history of two english families and consists of a house built in the 18th century that you can visit, a famous family garden, an ancient park inhabited by a herd of deer, ancient trees, a mill dating back to 1616.
Unfortunately, during our visit, the house was closed to visitors. But we were fascinated by the park with alleys and centuries-old trees. Deer roam freely in the woods and are obviously used to visitors, so you can get very close to them. It was a real adventure for the children to walked around the park and found the herd.
The centuries-old trees you can see there date back to the 17th century and are extremely rare in Britain today. The park is very beautiful and is a nice place to visit in all seasons. The walk through the alleys and the natural view are very invigorating. Be sure to wear appropriate shoes, especially if it is rainy or wet!
Duhnam Massey has a restaurant, a coffee shop and a shop selling souvenirs and local produce.
