Get to know Bulgaria!

Geocomplex Ponorite (also known as the Abyss) is located about 400 meters from the village of Musina, Veliko Tarnovo region, Bulgaria. It is two precipices with a depth of 25 meters, connected underground by a karst gallery, and it is assumed that the galleries lead to the Musinska and Emen caves.

Belogradchik rocks are a group of interestingly shaped rock formations located on the western slopes of Stara Planina (also called Balkan Mountains or Old Mountain), near the town of Belogradchik, Bulgaria.

The medieval fortress and peak Monyak (Monek) are located about 11 km from the town of Kardzhali, Bulgaria, near the village of Shiroko Pole, above the dam Studen Kladenets.

The Womb cave has long been on my list of places to visit. Finally came her turn. It is located about 20 km from the town of Kardzhali in the Eastern Rhodopes, next to the picturesque Kardzhali dam.

The thracian rock sanctuaries with mysterious trapezoidal rock niches carved in them are typical of the Eastern Rhodopes. The forests above the village of Nochevo are full of similar niches and small caves (like Kodja yin) and sharapani.

In the middle of the 20th century local enthusiasts created a delightful museum collection, which was transformed into the Historical museum of Strelcha in 2002.
