"Venetsa" cave is among the most beautiful caves in Bulgaria. It is located in Dimovo municipality, Vidin district, near the village of Oreshets and about 15 km away from the town of Belogradchik, Bulgaria.
It was discovered quite randomly in 1970 during the limestone production. It was opened for visits in the year 2015. The cave has a length of about 200 meters, humidity of 98%, 26 meters displacement and has 5 halls, of which 4 are ennobled and open to visitors. All year round, the temperature there is 10 degrees. For the movement were built metal platforms, it is good to know that there are several sections that are narrow and one must move there near to the ground.
In the cave you can see different and diverse formations such as stalactites, stalagmites, cave crystals, grape stalactites, calcite formations, and the semi-precious Onyx stone. The colorful lighting in all halls makes the cave even more beautiful and attractive. There is an entity that is likened to the Virgin Mary.
Another thing you can admire there are the bats – big and small horseshoe bat. I recommend that you watch out for the metal railings because you can grab a sleeping bat.
The guide was very polite – she told us many interesting details about the cave and was very cooperative to answer all of our questions. It was definitely a memorable visit and worth seeing with the eyes. Close to the cave there is a well-separated free car park, from which you have to walk around 300-400 meters along an asphalt road to the cave.
The Rayuvski cromlech and the monument of Valchan Voivoda are located in the village of Rayuvtsi, in the beautiful Elena Balkan, next to the shores of the Yovkovtsi Dam.
