The rocky phenomenon "God's Bridge" is located between the village of Lilyache and Chiren, Vratsa district.
According to legend, the gods did not want to wet their feet, passing through the river, and thus created a God's bridge. According to other traditions, the place was once the residence of Constantine and Helena and every morning she welcomed the sunrise here. According to science, the God's bridge is a natural rock bridge of karst formations among chalk limestones. It is believed that once a cave was closed, but after thousands of years subjected to various natural disasters and the river Lilyachka, which passes under it, has come to the opening of the cave. The rock phenomenon was declared a natural landmark in 1964 year.
The road we reached the God's bridge is through the village of Lilyache. We followed the signboards, and there were many all the way to the rock phenomenon. After we left the village we were about 2 km black, but passable road. For information - Google Maps successfully follows the path of the signs. After two kilometers of passage through the field we reached the remains of a fortress, which was performing guard functions during the late-roman era and the time of the Bulgarian Middle Ages (I did not see any information about it there on the spot). There's no way to pass it. Here we parked and quickly found two paths that lead to the rocky phenomenon. One starts after you enter the fortress and the other is on the left of it, next to one of the information signs. We took the second trail and after we walked very briefly down on it, we reached a well made gazebo with tables and benches.
From here you can see how a mysterious God's bridge was already see between the branches. The air became cool, the echo echoed, and the more we went down, we were breathless from the sight before our eyes. What the eye sees live in such places can not be transmitted through pictures or videos (but still, look at them!). We managed to get in some of the small caves and look at the bridge and the other side. There were a lot of separate trails nearby and the area is very pleasant for walks. I encourage you to look at your feet when you walk, so you don't get to be surprised by some hissing tourist.
The walk to the God's bridge can combine with a visit to the Rock maze Peshketo, located right next to the village of Lilyache.
